400TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

To commemorate the first settlement, September 10th has been chosen to carry out a celebration on the island. Several associated groups have been contacted and are committed to participation in a monument rededication and gathering.

These groups include the current owners of the island, The Catons Island Camp (Wesleyan Church) who have agreed to the use of their facilities, the NB Historical Society, ARCF (Association Regionale de la Communaute Francophone de Saint Jean), SANB (Societe de L’Acadie du NB),Catholic Diocese of Saint John, and the Wolastoquiyik Community.

The New Brunswick Lieutenant-Governor Graydon Nicholas has planned to attend the celebration.
