Gray's Mills Church

Gray's Mills Church - Gray's Mills

History and Style:

This church was built between 1870 and 1871. Funds for the church building that were raised by Mary J. Sterritt, who gathered donations from all over Kings County and Saint John, was the driving force behind the church’s construction. The church was built by contractor George Thomas Seely at a cost of $841.37 on land donated by Samuel Adams. The church windows, finials, pendants, and bargeboards are in the gothic style. The large, arched main entrance has been hidden by the addition of a new meeting area and entrance. The interior walls are covered in tongue and groove boards that were once varnished but are now painted.
