Gilliland's

History and Style:

This house was occupied by the Gilliland family for many years in the early 1900’s. Lebaron Gilliland and his wife Mabel Hennesey raised a family of five children here, and the house was later occupied by their son George, a Baptist minister. The McAlary family stayed here for a brief time in the 1940’s, and the house has changed hands many times since. This house was known for being extremely cold in the winter, and the owners weren’t able to wash the floor because it would turn into an ice rink!
