Skye Bhu Castle - Long Reach
History and Style:
This stately home was built by Elisha Peck Fullerton, a sea captain who sailed the world. He named his new home Skye Bhu Castle after visiting the Isle of Skye on one of his many voyages. The Isle of Skye, Scotland, is known for its rugged landscapes, picturesque fishing villages and medieval castles. One can understand why he chose to call it a castle; with its turreted two-story dormers, curled brackets, and stained-glass transom windows, calling it a house just wouldn’t do it justice.
