Aaron Kimball House

This house was probably built by Aaron Kimball (1836-1920). The house rested on hand-hewn sills, with a brick wall under its north end. The summer kitchen was located in the basement, and an oven was built into this brick wall. There was a chimney from this wall-oven to the roof, but it had been walled-over. This fourth chimney is visible in the photo above of the house being burned. The last members of the Kimball family to live in this house were John and Lila Kimball. The house eventually became dilapidated, and was burned in December of 1990.
