The Crystal Stream

The side wheeler, the Crystal Stream, was built in Bulls Ferry, New Jersey in 1873. It was 132 feet long, 25 feet beam, and a draft of 9 feet 3 inches. She had a 304-ton capacity and was placed on the Washademoak route in 1903 to replace the Star. There, she operated until a disastrous fire ended her career at Coles Island on June 20, 1907. Four crewmen perished in the fire.
